Imagine my surprise and delight when Donald Winkler wrote to me one summer day in 2021 saying, Sophie, I want to translate your Anecdotes! (I must disclose that I already knew this eminent literary translator and film director from winning a Governor General’s Literary Translation award in 2013, me in French and he in English).
And so he did ! For several months, with infinite patience in the face of my numerous change requests, Don sent me the English version of episode after episode1, up until the end of Part 2.
